In the long-term, Vietnam will make the semiconductor industry a pillar of its digital, knowledge-based, and green economy, he noted.
Vietnam's strengths lie in its political stability, solid macroeconomy, favorable geopolitical location, and large, technical workforce available at a competitive cost, Mr. Dung said, adding the country is increasingly attractive to leading tech companies like Samsung, NVIDIA, and Foxconn.
“Vietnam is working to restructure its economy and renew its growth model. It has also devised strategic solutions to promoting institutional reform, improving the business and investment environments, and removing bottlenecks in infrastructure and Human Resources,” he affirmed.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Dung, Vietnam will continue to provide more tax, visa, and work permit incentives in line with international practices to attract experts and scientists, develop a high-quality workforce, and prioritize STEM education. It will build centers for microchip design, R&D, and semiconductor testing that meet international standards, as well as shared labs in potential localities.
SEMIEXPO Vietnam 2025 is the leading international exhibition and conference in semiconductor and electronics in Vietnam. This year, it brings together more than 5,000 delegates from global technology corporations and state agencies.
