Vietnam records 4,513 cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Health said that from 5pm on Friday to 5pm on Saturday, Vietnam recorded 4,513 new infections: 1 imported case and 4,512 domestic cases, down 261 cases against the previous day. Ho Chi Minh City still had the most COVID-19 cases: 1,662.

On Saturday, 1,319 patients recovered, 105 patients died. Vietnam has so far cured 760,801 COVID-19 patients. The death toll from COVID-19 in Vietnam hit 20,442, accounting for 2.4% of the total number of infections.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Vietnam has reported a total of 836,134 cases of COVID-19, ranking 155 out of 223 countries and territories (8,493 cases per 1 million people on average).

By Saturday, the total vaccine doses administered was 51.9 million, of which 14.2 million were second doses.
