(VOVworld) – Vietnam always attaches importance to its friendship and cooperation with the US, the Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman cited a message from Vietnamese leaders to President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday in response to questions on Vietnam’s reaction to the US Presidential election.

Spokesperson Le Hai Binh said on Thursday that President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had sent messages of congratulations to Mr. Trump on November 9.

Binh was also quoted as saying that Vietnam wants the two nations to continue to intensify the comprehensive partnership in a substantive, stable, sustainable and long-term manner, especially with a view to economy, the trade and investment, science and technology, education and training, as well as defense and security, while beefing up cooperation in regional and international issues.
