Vietnam reports 5 new COVID-19 patients, death toll rises to 29

(VOVWORLD) - The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Control and Prevention said that until 6pm on Wednesday, Vietnam reported 5 new COVID-19 patients who entered the country from abroad. Vietnam currently has a total of 1,034 COVID-19 patients. 

Earlier on the same day, Da Nang Lung Hospital and Hoa Vang Field Hospital announced 34 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and been discharged from hospital. These patients are from in Da Nang City, Quang Nam Province, and Quang Ngai Province. This has been the highest number of hospital discharged patients ever, including 2-month old baby. They will continue to be quarantined at home for 14 days under the supervision of the local health facilities.

On Wednesday the Ministry of Health informed of the death of 2 COVID-19 patients, a man from Quang Nam and a woman from Da Nang. They are Vietnam’s 28th and 29th COVID-19 deaths since the epidemic reoccurred in Vietnam on July 25. Patients had a history of severe underlying diseases.

As of 6pm on Wednesday, Vietnam had 632 patients recovered, the remaining 402 patients were being isolated and treated. A total of 29 patients died.
