Vietnam reports 7,600 domestic cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours

(VOVWORLD) - In the past 24 hours, Vietnam confirmed 7,623 new cases of COVID-19, of which 5 were imported and 7,618 were locally-transmitted.

Ho Chi Minh City recorded 3,300 cases, down nearly half compared to the previous day.

From 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Vietnam had an additional 3,352 COVID-19 cases.

Localities that had most cases include Binh Duong with 1,111 cases, Ho Chi Minh City 935, and Long An 281 cases.

On Wednesday, an additional 3,501 patients recovered.

On the same day, the Treatment Sub-Committee of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced 256 more deaths in 13 provinces and cities. Ho Chi Minh City had the most deaths: 217.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Vietnam’s total caseload hit 177,813.

54,332 patients have recovered and 2,327 have died.
