Vietnam reports another imported COVID-19 case on Sunday afternoon

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam recorded one new COVID-19 case in the past 12 hours to 6pm on Sunday, raising the total number of infections in the country to 2,693, 1,570 of them are domestically transmitted, said the Ministry of Health.
The patient, a 27-year-old man of Hai Phong port city, crossed the Ha Tien International Bordergate into Kien Giang province and was immediately quarantined upon his arrival.

According to the Treatment Subcommittee under the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, 2,429 patients have been successfully cured, while the death toll related to the disease remained at 35.

Ten provinces and cities - Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Binh Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Gia Lai, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City - have gone through 57 consecutive days without new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases while Hanoi has passed 54 days, and Hai Phong, 47 days.

As of Saturday, more than 58,000 people in 19 provinces and cities, including medical workers, members of community-based anti-COVID-19 groups, and members of the steering committees for COVID-19 prevention and control in localities, have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
