Spokesman for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Le Hai Binh, on Monday detailed Vietnam’s reaction to Taiwan’s notice of a live-fire drill on Taiping island, which is Ba Binh island in Vietnam’s Truong Sa archipelago, on November 3 and 4, 2014.
Mr. Binh said Vietnam had sufficient legal and historical evidence to confirm its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. Vietnam resolutely opposes such activities and requests Taiwan cease and not repeat any similar acts of violation.
