Vietnam resolutely protests Chinese Taipei’s drill in Ba Binh Island

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam resolutely protests Chinese Taipei’s naval drills in Ba Binh Island of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago, said spokeswoman for Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry Le Thi Thu Hang in a regular press conference on Thursday.

Ms. Hang said: 'As we have reiterated several times, Vietnam has sufficient legal foundation and historical evidence to affirm its sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) Archipelagos in line with international law. Any patrol and military drills of Chinese Taipei in the waters near Ba Binh Island of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago seriously violated Vietnam’s sovereignty over the islands, threatened peace, stability, safety, and security of navigation, caused tension, and complicated the situation in the East Sea. Vietnam strongly protests and requests Chinese Taipei to end these illegal activities and not to repeat them in the future.'
