Vietnam responsibility to cope with climate change affirmed

(VOVWORLD) - The Treaty Event was held on Friday on the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly in New York.

At the event, Ambassador and Head of the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the UN Dang Dinh Quy handed to the UN Vietnam's Approval of the Revised Kigali Document of the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer. The document shows Vietnam’s responsibility and active role in coping with climate change and its readiness to cooperate with other countries in controlling and eliminating substances that deplete the ozone layer. Vietnam was the 82nd country that has approved the revised document. Vietnam is now a full member of the Vienna Convention on Ozone Layer Protection, the Montreal protocol and the revised document of the protocol.
