Vietnam, RoK strengthen ties

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met in Hanoi on Wednesday the Republic of Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak Yeon, who is in Vietnam to pay tribute to President Tran Dai Quang.

Prime Minister Phuc thanked the RoK President Moon Jae-in and his spouse for sending condolences to the Vietnamese Party, State and people, and the family of President Quang. Mr. Phuc promised to work closely with the Republic of Korea to boost the bilateral strategic partnership in line with the Vietnam-RoK Joint Statement on advancing ties toward the future which was signed in March. He urged the two sides to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields.

Prime Minister Yeon expressed his deep condolences over President Quang’s passing saying it’s a great loss to bilateral ties. He said the RoK President, government and people treasure ties with Vietnam and will continue to support Vietnam’s development.
