Vietnam, Romania seek to deepen bilateral ties
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son paid a visit to Romania on Wednesday and Thursday as Special Envoy of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

During the visit, Deputy Foreign Minister Son handed Prime Minister Phuc’s letter to Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă, in which Mr. Phuc praised developments of the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Romania and expressed his hope that both sides will continue consolidating and deepening their bilateral ties.
Deputy Foreign Minister Son congratulated Romania for assuming the rotating EU Presidency, wishing Romania to play an active role in further fostering cooperation between Vietnam and the EU. He called on the Romanian side to work with other EU members to push for the signing and ratification of the EU-Vietnam free trade agreement (EVFTA) and the Investment Protection Agreement (IPA) for mutual benefits.
The Romanian officials said Romania treasures and hopes to bolster friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, saying Romanian Government appreciates contributions and will work to protect Vietnamese community’s rights in their country.
