Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and his Russian counterpart Maxim Akimov agreed on the importance of this relationship while discussing the implementation of bilateral agreements at a meeting on the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on Thursday.

Mr. Dung said Vietnam supports Russian petroleum companies to extend oil and gas exploration and exploitation on Vietnam’s continental shelf in line with international law, including the 1982 UNCLOS. He asked Russia to offer favorable conditions for Vietnamese joint ventures to participate in new oil fields in Russia’s territory to maximize the efficiency of current projects.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers also witnessed the signing of an MOU between their Ministries of Construction and an MOU on opening a direct flight between Cam Ranh and Russia’s Vladivostok International Airport (VVO).
