Vietnamese Deputy Inspector General Dang Cong Huan and head of the Russian agency Oleg Plokhoi briefed each other on anti-corruption work in their country in recent years.

The Vietnamese delegation learned about Russia’s strategic orientations in combating corruption and how the fight has been carried out in Russian localities and in public procurement.

The two sides discussed coordination at multilateral anti-corruption forums, particularly during APEC Year 2017, which will be hosted by Vietnam.

The Russians said they are working with their agencies to provide scholarships and create short-term anti-corruption training courses for Vietnamese inspectors.

The Vietnamese delegation is on a 5-day working visit to Russia following a memorandum of understanding signed by the two agencies.
