Vietnam, Saudi Arabia hold great potential for cooperation

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam and Saudi Arabia hold great potential for cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said during a meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Vietnam Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy in Hanoi on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister said Vietnam is interested in and wishes to strengthen cooperation with Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, a big country that plays an important role in the region. He suggested that the two sides coordinate well in organizing the exchange of delegations at all levels, promote bilateral cooperation mechanisms and soon organize the 5th meeting of the Vietnam-Saudi Arabia Intergovernmental Committee in 2023.

PM Chinh asked Saudi Arabia to support Vietnam to soon complete the procedures for signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Vietnam welcomes and is ready to create favorable conditions for the operation of investment funds and corporations of Saudi Arabia in Vietnam, he said and suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in digital economy, green economy, circular economy, tourism, labor, and employment.

The Saudi Ambassador pledged to coordinate with Vietnamese agencies to boost the implementation of signed agreements and conduct negotiations on more cooperation agreements, especially in the Halal food industry.
