Vietnam secures Olympic slot in boxing

(VOVWORLD) - Boxer Nguyen Thi Tam has become the eleventh Vietnamese athlete to qualify to compete in the coming Tokyo Olympics this summer.

Tam has accumulated enough credits in the International Boxing Federation leagues for the women’s under 51 kg category.

Tam is the third Vietnamese martial arts athlete to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics, following boxer Nguyen Van Duong in the men’s featherweight category and Taekwondo athlete Truong Thi Kim Tuyen in the women’s under 49 kg category. 
Other athletes taking part in the Olympics are swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang, gymnasts Le Thanh Tung and Dinh Phuong Thanh, badminton players Nguyen Tien Minh and Nguyen Thuy Linh, archers Do Thi Anh Nguyet and Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu, and rowers Luong Thi Thao and Dinh Thi Hao.
