During Mr. Tuan’s week-long working trip to South Africa, which concluded on Wednesday, South African lawmakers called for more people-to-people exchanges and a focus on high-potential areas of cooperation.

Meeting Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Alvin Botes in Pretoria, Mr. Tuan said that Vietnam is ready to support South Africa in developing relations with ASEAN countries, and help the South African parliament strengthen cooperation with the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.

Tuan said that, to mark the 30th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations next year, Vietnam plans to organize a Vietnam Day in South Africa.

Botes called on the two business communities to explore opportunities for collaboration in each country.
