The visit, made at the invitation of Singaporean Parliament Speaker Seah Kian Peng, comes as Vietnam and Singapore celebrate over 50 years of diplomatic ties (1973-2024) and a decade of strategic partnership (2013-2024).
The two nations have made remarkable strides across various sectors, encompassing cooperation at the Party, parliamentary, government, and people-to-people levels. Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore, Mai Phuoc Dung, highlighted the growing relationship, underscoring its importance in achieving key milestones.
He said: "Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s visit aims to review agreements signed in 2022 and explore new opportunities for collaboration, focused on enhancing mutual engagement. This visit is particularly timely, as both nations work towards establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership in the near future. Parliamentary leaders are expected to discuss legal frameworks to strengthen cooperation, facilitate Singaporean investment in Vietnam, and potentially open avenues for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Singapore."
Ahead of the visit, Speaker Seah Kian Peng extended a warm welcome in a formal letter, reiterating the robust and enduring ties between the two countries. His remarks reflect the mutual commitment to deepening a partnership that continues to grow stronger with each passing year.
