He said Vietnam considers cybercrime prevention one of the priorities in national security policy and has actively participated in the Convention negotiation process. UNODC announced that the Convention is being reviewed and translated into six official languages of the United Nations. Once completed, it will be published on the UNODC website as soon as possible for easy access by countries and relevant parties.

According to regulations, after two years from the Convention's adoption at the UN General Assembly in December 2024, the UN Special Committee, the agency responsible for developing the Convention, will be empowered to chair discussions on the next steps in negotiating the Convention's Protocol. The discussion process is planned to start in early 2026.
