Vietnam Summer Camp opens in Hanoi

(VOVworld) – More than 160 young Vietnamese expatriates living in 21 countries worldwide gathered at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Vietnam Summer Camp in Hanoi on Thursday.

Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam expressed his belief that “through a journey across the nation, overseas Vietnamese youth will witness major changes of Vietnam in all fields and feel the deep sentiment Vietnamese people at home have for those living abroad. I hope that following this trip, young overseas Vietnamese feel drawn closer to the homeland, helping them to better understand the native country and love their roots.”

The 18-day camp, themed “Proud of Vietnam”, will take place in 12 provinces and cities nationwide during which they will participate in many activities with the focus on activities in commemoration to those who sacrificed their lives for national defense.
