Vietnam supports international community’s efforts to fight terrorism

(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Foreign Ministry has responded to recent tension between Russia and Turkey following the Turkish downing of a Russia’s SU-24 jet. Deputy spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang told the press on Thursday: “Vietnam is deeply concerned about the November 24 incident and wish that Russia and Turkey to hold dialogue and resolve the issue, avoiding escalation of tension and similar incident. Vietnam supports international community’s efforts to fight terrorism in all forms and extreme violence based on the UN Charter, key principles of international law regarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity while ensuring civilian safety.”

She commented on Singapore’s permission of US deployment of P8 Poisedon plane from Singapore to the East Sea: “Maintaining peace and security in the East Sea is the joint benefit and responsibility of countries in and outside the region. All activities contributing to peace and stability in the region are welcomed.”
