Vietnam to become creative hub for food systems

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam aims to strengthen agricultural restructuring, develop modern commodity agriculture, accelerate high tech in agriculture, improve the sector’s resilience, and expand exports markets and global value chains, said Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh.

At a virtual meeting on Tuesday in preparation for the UN Food Systems Summit, Mr. Minh said Vietnam has implemented several policies to attract investment in modernizing agriculture based on innovation and achievements from the 4th Industrial Revolution. Vietnam has promoted public-private partnerships for sustainable agriculture development, Mr. Minh said. 'It’s important to strengthen links of innovation networks and connect research with needs of businesses in the food system and the national economy. Vietnam aims to become a creative hub for food systems in Asia. Second, it’s important to accelerate the application of digital technology and achievements of the 4th industrial revolution to develop smart agricultural value chains. Vietnam has promoted digital transformation of food systems toward green, less emitted and sustainable development and focused on ecological agriculture.'
