Vietnam to boost agricultural imports from US

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held a meeting with the US Embassy on Monday in Hanoi to promote the import of agricultural products from the US.

Both sides agreed to resolve tariff and quarantine issues. Vietnam's agro-forestry-fishery exports to the US are growing, marking the US Vietnam’s largest export market for agricultural, forestry and fishery products, said Nguyen Do Anh Tuan, head of the MARD's International Cooperation Department.

"The Ministry will work closely with US agencies to make quarantine procedures more open and in line with international practices," he said.

The US is among Vietnam’s leading trade partners. Bilateral trade exceeded 47 billion USD in the past 7 months.
