Vietnam to buy an additional 20 million Pfizer vaccine doses

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese government has issued Resolution 90 to buy an additional nearly 20 million doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

The Government asked the Ministry of Health to purchase the vaccine as soon as possible to meet COVID-19 prevention and control efforts and ensure quality and efficiency during the purchase and use of the vaccine.

Vietnam will likely receive a large amount of COVID-19 vaccines in the 4th quarter of this year, including up to 50 million doses of Pfizer, Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said early this month.

Vietnam needs 150 million doses of vaccines to cover 70% of its population by early next year.
