Vietnam to compile dossiers of 2 cultural heritages for UNSECO recognition

(VOVWORLD) -The Government Office on Wednesday issued a document conveying Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam’s request on the preparation of dossiers of typical intangible cultural heritages of Vietnam to be submitted to UNESCO.

Dossiers of the Art of Cheo in the Red River Delta and Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts will be developed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism before they are approved by the Prime Minister for submission to UNESCO for recognition as a world cultural heritage.

Cheo is a form of popular theatre, often encompassing dance, traditionally performed by peasants in northern Vietnam’s Red River Delta. 

Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts is a regional form of martial arts in Vietnam, involving counties or districts that practice martial arts that contain styles dated 100 to 600 years.
