(VOVworld)-The Ministry of Information and Communications had held a national workshop on the implementation of TV digitalization. According to the Prime Minister’s decision in December 2011, Vietnam will switch from a nationwide analogue to digital enabling television stations to broadcast completely in digital by 2020. Addressing the meeting on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan calls for more effort to promote TV digitalization in remote and mountainous areas: “Provinces should allocate public fund on telecommunication to facilitate the project. Provincial people’s committees should coordinate with local departments of information and telecommunications and TV stations to draw up a roadmap on TV digital switch in their provinces.”

By 2020, all households with television sets across the country are expected to view digital television by different methods.
