(VOVworld) - Vietnam’s garments and textiles sector is expected to achieve its goal of earning 15 billion USD from exports. So far this year, the sector’s exports have topped 10 billion USD, an increase of 7% against the same period last year. September’s export turnover to the US, Vietnam’s biggest market for garments and textiles, was 13% higher than the same month last year. Japan is likely to overtake the EU to become Vietnam’s 2^nd largest importer of garments and textiles recording 20% in growth. Exports to Argentina, Chile and Panama also increase. The Ministry of Commerce and Trade is also promoting trade in potential markets such as Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia.
