Vietnam to enjoy trade surplus for 4th straight year

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is expected to enjoy a trade surplus for the fourth successive year this year as the excess of exports over imports hit more than 9 billion USD over the past 11 months. 

According to the Export-Import Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the country shipped more than 240 billion USD worth of goods abroad and imported more than 230 billion USD worth goods between January and November. 

The foreign-investment sector contributed more than 166 billion USD to the nation’s total exports in 11 months, up 3.8 billion USD. The number of commodities joining the 1 billion USD export club increased to 31 in 2019.

Vietnamese goods have appeared in 200 countries and territories, including highly competitive markets like the US, Japan, the EU, and South Korea.
