Vietnam to host first ever full-distance IRONMAN triathlon

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will host the full-distance IRONMAN Triathlon for the first time in Da Nang on May10, 2026, said a press conference on Wednesday.

This competition will be run in parallel with the IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang, which has become an annual hallmark of the city since 2015.

The 2026 full-distance IRONMAN Triathlon is a world-class endurance sporting event, expected to attract a large number of athletes from around the globe.
The competition will include a 3.8 km swim (2 laps) in the sea at East Sea Park; a 180 km bike ride (2 laps), starting from Vo Nguyen Giap Street, crossing Thuan Phuoc Bridge and passing through suburban areas; and a 42.2 km run (4 laps) along the coastline, finishing at East Sea Park.

The sporting event aims to promote Da Nang’s image and offers international athletes a chance to experience the culture, country, and people of Vietnam. IRONMAN Vietnam 2026 will award outstanding athletes with slots at the 2026 IRONMAN® World Championship.
