Vietnam to join rescue drill abroad for the first time

(VOVworld) – The National Committee for Search and Rescue said a team from the Vietnam People’s Army will join a humanitarian relief and disaster rescue drill in Brunei in June. Deputy Head of the Committee’s Office Colonel Pham Van Ty said a conference on Wednesday in Hanoi to review search and rescue work up to the end of this year: “The exercise in Brunei is intended to increase the coordination of activities and exchanges between ASEAN armed forces and their partners. We will learn from each others’ experiences to improve our command ability and mobility of vehicles in the event of disaster”.
