Head of the Ministry’s Department of Climate Change, Dr. Tang The Cuong said the Law on Environment Protection, taking effect next year, regulates responsibilities and requirements for ministries, department, and agencies in eliminating Ozone Depleting Substances and reducing HCFCs. He said: "Vietnam has been preparing to phase out carbon emissions and fulfil its commitment to international treaties. Vietnam is currently developing documents detailing implementation of the Law on Environmental Protection."

The workshop was part of a cooperation program that the Japanese International Cooperation Agency launched last July to enable Vietnam to share F-gas management experience with Japan, Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
