(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is in the process of getting a
license to export avocados to the US, according to the Vietnam Trade Office in the US.

To enter the US market, avocados must meet the minimum requirements of regulations on maturity, color and weight, the Office said, adding that fruit must also be intact, clean and insect-free.
Last year, the US spent more than 2.3 billion USD importing avocados.
About half of US households consume avocados with average spending of 24 USD each year, the Office reported. It took Vietnam 10 years to get a license for exporting mangoes to the US.
