Vietnam, UK boost strategic partnership

During a reception for Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long on Tuesday, Hoyle valued the role of the National Assembly of Vietnam and its contributions to  multilateral forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). He said that his country always supports Vietnam's position on solving disputes in the East Sea on the basis of respect for law. 

Hoyle reiterated his willingness to support Vietnam and the Vietnamese Embassy in London in implementing activities to promote friendship and strategic partnership, including delegation exchange and bilateral cooperation through the Parliamentary channel.

Ambassador Long emphasized that the bilateral relations is in the best stage of development and there are many opportunities for the two countries to enhance multi-faceted cooperation.

He asked the Speaker of the House of Commons to assist Vietnam in effectively implementing the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) and cooperation projects and programs, especially in the improvement of legal capacity, education-training, as well as areas in which the UK has strengths such as finance, science and technology, and renewable energy.

The diplomat called for creating favorable conditions for the exchange of delegations between the two parliaments.
