Both sides discussed measures to deepen the Vietnam-UK Strategic Partnership by increasing delegation exchanges and contacts, implementing the Strategic Dialogue on diplomacy, security, and defense, and enhancing cooperation at multilateral forums, particularly the UN.

They agreed on close cooperation to ensure the continuation of bilateral trade and investment after the UK leaves the EU. Mr. Son said Vietnam will offer favorable conditions for British businesses to invest in areas in which Vietnam is in need, such as energy, health, and environment.

Both sides pledged to collaborate in anti-corruption, and the fight against organized crime, human trafficking, and wildlife smuggling. Mr. Field said the UK will support Vietnam in UN peacekeeping activities.
