The signing ceremony was witnessed by President of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is in New York for the the High-Level General Debate of the 76th United Nations General Assembly.

Bamboo Airways on Tuesday announced that it will open a direct route between Vietnam and the US and a representative office in the US. Bamboo Airways will join the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) from October to prepare for ticket sales through travel distribution channels in the US market. The airline’s moves follow the licensing by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the first direct flights between Vietnam and the US.

On Tuesday, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc witnessed Vietjet Air and CFM International Company, the GE&Safran joint venture, signing a 260 million USD contract to provide maintenance services for new aircraft engines, raising the total value of their cooperation to 18.5 billion USD.
