Vietnam, US enhance law enforcement cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam sees the US as a leading partner and wants to strengthen their comprehensive partnership, said Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Thanh at a reception for a visiting delegation of the US Law Enforcement Coalition (USLEC) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in Hanoi on Monday.

Mr. Thanh urged the USLEC, the IACP, and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security to enhance sharing of information, documents, and experience in transnational crime prevention, especially of terrorism, hi-tech crime, and drug and human trafficking. He also urged the two US organizations to help Vietnam expand its law enforcement capacity.
