Vietnam, US to strenghthen comprehensive partnership

In a phone call on Monday with Kurt Campbell, the Coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs at the US National Security Council, Mr. Son reiterated Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, and multilateralisation and diversification of external relations.

He said Vietnam is ready to further promote its comprehensive partnership with the US for the sake of the two peoples, and for regional and global peace, security, development, and prosperity.

Mr. Campbell said the US treasures its relationship with Vietnam and he hopes the two countries will work closely on issues of shared concern at international forums.

The two agreed that Vietnam-US ties have avanced in all aspects and continue to develop stably and substantively.

They expressed their confidence in stronger bilateral ties based on the relationship that has been created over the years and a shared belief in “respecting each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political regime.”
