Vietnam values closer ties with Japan

The head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Organisation has affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, Government and people have treasured and worked to develop relations with Japan for mutual benefit, peace, stability and cooperation. Politburo member To Huy Rua made the statement at a meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday with former Japanese Prime Minister and President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Yukio Hatoyama. Rua suggested the Japanese Parliament continue to assist Vietnam by increasing its official development assistance and its support for human resource training and infrastructure development.

Hatoyama said that Japan appreciates the strategic partnership with Vietnam, and said Japan is ready to support Vietnam in human resource training, finance, and transfer of nuclear technology.
