Vietnam women’s team through to 2024 Paris Olympic second qualifying round
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam beat Nepal 2-0 in the second leg of the 2024 Olympic Paris first qualifying round for women’s football on Saturday, advancing to the second round. The goals were scored by Pham Hai Yen.

Vietnam and Nepal were the only teams left in Group C after Palestine and Afghanistan withdrew from the competition. After two matches, Vietnam won 7-1 on aggregate.
“Nepal are placed second in the South Asian region, so we played the games cautiously," said head coach Mai Duc Chung at the post-match conference.
Other teams qualifying for the second round include the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, the Republic of Korea, and China.
The will be divided into three groups and compete in a round-robin format competition in October. Three top teams and one best second-placed squad will enter the third round.
