Vietnamese, Belgian companies cooperate on vaccines

(VOVWORLD) - GlaxoSmithKline S.A. of Belgium, a major pharmaceutical company, and the Vietnam Vaccine Company (VNVC) signed a memorandum of understanding in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, opening up an opportunity for Vietnam to acquire more vaccines.

This is the second strategic cooperation document VNVC and GSK have signed GSK has committed to providing Vietnam large quantities of vaccines, and newer vaccines, like Infanrix-hexa, a combination vaccine that protects infants from six diseases, and the Synflorix pneumococcal vaccine. Their first agreement was signed in 2019.

According to VNVC official Vu Thi Thu Ha, this cooperation will protect millions of children and adults from dangerous infectious diseases.

The MoU was signed at the launch of GSK Pharma Vietnam Company Limited, which represents a long-term investment in Vietnam by GSK.
