Vietnamese children worldwide welcome Mid-Autumn celebrations

 (VOVworld) – Activities were held for children nationwide on Monday Mid-Autumn festival. In Da Nang city, 1,000 poor children and children of local fishermen, fisheries surveillance forces, and marine police enjoyed a special art program called “Vietnamese children towards national sea and islands”. The Da Nang provincial Youth Union and sponsors presented 200 gifts and scholarships worth 10,000 USD to local disadvantaged children. Nguyen Vu Dieu Linh said:“I’m very happy to enjoy the mid-autumn festival. I have an opportunity to make friends, watch lion dancing and art performances, play games, and receive gifts.”

An art exchange entitled “the Moon for young children” took place in Hanoi. 100 savings books were presented to disabled children and 100 gifts to unfortunate children in Van Lang district, Lang Son province.

In many countries, Vietnamese communities organized activities to help young people understand of their traditional culture. In Russia’s Far Eastern provinces of Primorie and Khabarovsk, where 4,000 Vietnamese are living, a celebration was attended by overseas Vietnamese and visiting representatives.

A similar party was organized for Vietnamese children at the Nguyen Du Vietnamese-Lao Bilingual School in Vientiane to help them learn about the traditional culture of Vietnam. They enjoyed moon cakes, and sang songs about President Ho Chi Minh and their homeland.
