Vietnamese embassies hold Tet celebrations

(VOVworld) - Vietnamese embassies have held celebrations to mark the traditional lunar New Year festival. Speaking at the event on Friday, Charge d’affairs of the Vietnamese embassy in China informed the Vietnamese community representatives about latest socio-economic achievements in the home countries. Vu Tien Dung said the relations between Vietnam and China have developed in all fields: "Vietnam and China’s leaders have exchanged visits frequently. Both reached common awareness to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership. Besides developments in diplomacy, national defense and security, bilateral trade turnover has reached nearly 96 billion dollars last year, representing a 14.6% increase from 2014.”

Ambassador to Belgium Vuong Thua Phong congratulated overseas Vietnamese on the lunar New Year occasion, praising major achievements in Vietnam EU ties, especially the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to Brussels in December 2015. He thanked the community contribution and support to territorial sovereignty defense and national construction.

Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh expressed his belief that Vietnam and India’s strategic partnership will see more growth in all areas and congratulated the Vietnamese community in India on the New Year occasion.

In Japan, Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong hailed the Japanese Vietnamese community’s contribution to national construction and defense, saying that they will bridge the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
