Vietnamese exports to Czech Republic see bright prospects

(VOVWORLD) - Bilateral trade between Vietnam and the Czech Republic has been growing at 10% a year over the past few years.

Ta Hoang Linh, Director of the Europe-US market department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said the growth accelerated to about 16% in 2018, bringing the value of two-way trade to nearly 300 million USD. In the first quarter of this year, two-way trade reached nearly 65 million USD, making the Czech Republic one of Vietnam’s most important trade partners in central Europe.

At the 6th meeting of the Vietnam-Czech Republic Inter-governmental Committee in Hanoi last year, the two sides pledged to strengthen diplomatic relations and develop economic, trade, and investment ties. The Czech Republic listed Vietnam among its 12 key markets in foreign trade from 2012 to 2020. Vietnam was the only ASEAN country in the list.
