Vietnamese peacekeepers accomplish mission in South Sudan

(VOVWORLD) -Officers and staff of Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 were given a warm welcome on Friday in Hanoi as they completed their UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan and returned home.

Representatives of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department at the Ministry of National Defense and delegates presented flowers to the peacekeepers.

Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 with 63 officers and staff was deployed to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan on September 26, 2024.

During their one year of service, they examined and treated more than 2,600 patients as well as  successfully performed many difficult surgeries.

The hospital’s mass mobilization activities, including community health care programs, educational support, and cultural exchange earned plaudits of international friends and local people.
