Vietnamese pianist receives Poland’s Medal of Merit
(VOVWORLD) - World-renowned concert pianist People’s Artist Dang Thai Son has been awarded Poland’s highest distinction – the Golden Medal for Merit to Culture “Gloria Artis”.

At an award ceremony in Warsaw on Thursday Dang Thai Son was praised for his contributions to popularising Chopin’s music as well as his efforts to develop music in Poland, especially his participation as a jury member at the first international Chopin contest in Warsaw.
Dang Thai Son, born in 1958, won first prize at the tenth International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 1980. It was the first time an Asian artist had won this important competition.
