Vietnamese rescuers help save teenager from Turkey's rubble

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security’s Rescue Team on Thursday helped rescue a young earthquake victim in Turkey and provided humanitarian aid to Turkish people.

Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, leader of the team, said, “Over the past six days in Turkey, we have coordinated with other forces to rescue a 17-year-old and brought the bodies of 10 earthquake victims out of the rubble of collapsed buildings.”

“The rescue team of the Ministry of Public Security has also delivered two tons of goods, including medical equipment and medicine, to Turkey to help earthquake victims.”

So far, the rescue team of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry has identified 11 sites where victims have been trapped by the earthquake.

Death toll of the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6 has passed 44,000.
