Vietnam sent a team of eight students to the 21st Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO). Six brought back medals.

Nguyen Manh Quan and Tran Quang Vinh, both 12th graders from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, won gold. Quan scored the highest among all contestants, becoming the first Vietnamese student to achieve that feat at an APhO event.

The 21st Asian Physics Olympiad, hosted by Chinese Taiwan, was organized online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event drew 23 teams with 181 contestants.
