At the 12th conference themed "Local cooperation: Momentum for post Covid-19 sustainable and comprehensive recovery and development", Deputy PM Quang said that over half a century, the two peoples of France and Vietnam have overcome the ups and downs and become friends and partners. The two countries are working together for mutual prosperity, he said.

“Throughout Vietnam's development and international integration path, France has always been the most important partner in the EU and a special partner in Vietnam's foreign policy. This is reflected in the fact that France is one of Europe's leading partners of trade, investment and non-refundable aid for Vietnam, and also through the close, dynamic and diverse people-to-people and local relations between the two countries."

"Cooperation between Vietnamese and French localities is one of the important channels to promote cooperation between the two countries. This local cooperation makes a difference in Vietnam-France relations with other countries,” Mr. Quang added.

The human side should not be underestimated when we look at the shared history of the two countries, a history with beautiful pages alongside the painful times that we have overcome together towards a shared future."

"The 12th conference of cooperation between French and Vietnamese localities follows these successes. We are both ambitious to address new challenges of the times such as environmental protection, digital revolution, and cultural and linguistic diversity,” Deroche said.
