(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s Business Climate Index (BCI) climbed from 66 points in the second quarter to 74 points in the third quarter, indicating a growing confidence of European businesses in Vietnam. The BCI survey, conducted by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), was released in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday. The growth in confidence showed high expectations by businesses for the free trade agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the European Union. More than half of the respondents believed that the FTA with the EU will be beneficial if it is coordinated with other trade agreements between Vietnam and countries like the Republic of Korea and Japan. 61% of survey participants said Vietnam’s macroeconomic situation will stabilize and improve.
