A new report from the General Statistics Office said Ho Chi Minh City enjoyed 1.03% growth in the reviewed period, higher than the city’s report of 0.42%.

This is good news for the national economy, which is facing the same difficulties as the rest of the world, PM Phuc said. He emphasized Ho Chi Minh City’s unique importance as the city accounts for 20 to 22% of the country's GDP and contributes 25% of the national budget.
