Vietnam’s imported cars drop in April

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam imported 4,900 cars worth 131 million USD in April, according to the General Department of Customs.

April saw the least volume of imported cars since the beginning of this year. The imports mainly came from Thailand, Indonesia, and China.

The Vietnam Automobiles Manufacturers Association (VAMA) reported that the number of cars sold in April was low. The association’s members only sold roughly 11,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 46%.

Excluding Isuzu cars which increased 2%, other automakers suffered a dramatic drop in sales including Ford 53%, Mazda 49%, Honda 41%, and Toyota Motor Vietnam 29%.
